The Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD prides itself in a strong academic program that's shown outstanding results in statewide assessments.

High school students have the opportunity to take courses concurrently with Odessa College to gain college credit.  Advanced placement courses are also available for college credit.  Advance placement courses are also available for college credit.  Odessa College offers night and summer courses for students in high school or in the community.

MWP ISD continually tries to improve all areas of our academics and especially emphasize programs that will assist students considered at risk in respect to having success at school at any age or grade level.

Important recruitment areas are Pre-kindergarten and Monahans Education Center recovery school.

Pre-kindergarten classes offer eligible four year olds certified teachers, bilingual teachers and additional aides to develop the necessary academic and social skills for entering kindergarten.  Students attend a half-day program and qualify for a free lunch program.  For more information please contact the Cullender campus principal, Chad Smith, or any of his staff at 943-5252.

The Monahans Education Center is located adjacent to Monahans High School.  Students enrolled are grades 9-12 and working toward their high school diplomas in a less traditional school setting.  Circumstances have put these students at risk of dropping out of school.  These students recognize the need to complete requirements for a high school diploma.  Computers are available for students working on self-paced courses or completing homework assignments.  Certified teachers, and support staff are available to assist students.

Anyone under 21 years of age who does not possess the equivalent of a high school diploma meets the requirements for enrollment.  The District simply asks for a commitment from the student to attend and be responsible for completing the work required to be successful.  Free and reduced meals are available to those who qualify.  Call  943-2019 for more information.
