What do I do if…

On rare occasions, it is necessary for a student to miss school because they are sick, attending a doctor’s appointment, or some type of family emergency.

If your child is going to miss school, please notify the teacher in advance. If make-up work is appropriate, the teacher will prepare and provide this to your child.

If your child wakes up and is not feeling well enough to come to school, please call and notify the school of the situation before 8:30.

ATTENDANCE AWARDS:

We present attendance awards each six weeks and one at the end of the year for PERFECT and OUTSTANDING ATTENDANCE.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE: The student is present every second of every day from the first bell to the last. He/She is never tardy and never leaves early for anything.

OUTSTANDING ATTENDANCE: The student is present every day, but needed to leave during some portion of the day.
 

Although we would hate to see you leave Monahans, there are times when moves are necessary. If you are planning a move, please contact the school and inform them of the moving date. You will be asked to make sure your child has paid for all meals in the cafeteria and returned all books in the library. Once all areas are cleared, records will be released to the receiving school for a smooth transfer.

Welcome! We always love new friendly faces! If you have a 1^st or 2^nd grade student, you’ve found the right school! Please give us a call as soon as you can to let us know you are headed our way. We’ll be ready to receive you with an enrollment folder. You will be asked to present your child’s birth certificate, social security card, and shot record.

If you have any records from the previous school, these will be helpful, although not required.

If your child attended any special classes, such as Resource, C.E.I., Speech, Physical or Occupational Therapy, etc., please notify us when you come in.
