Lobo Baseball Gets Another
District

After a victory over the Fort Stockton
Panthers, the Lobo baseball team pulled in another win against Pecos Friday
night. Thanks to a few key defensive plays and great pitching, while Monahans
tallied up seven.
Pecos scored the team's only run in the first inning. Monahans scored one in the first and third, two in the second and three in the fifth. Anthony Cota hit a home run and had three rbi's.
Steven Valles pitched all seven innings on Friday night. He gave up only one walk and struck out 11.
Monahans was able to capitalize on walks, bringing in seven runs," said coach Arcadio Rivera.
Defensively, the Loboes teamed up to hold the game together and keep Pecos at bay.
"Tico Olivas made a heck of a defensive play as catcher, throwing out a runner who was trying to advance to second due to a pass ball at first. Blake Hughes made a couple of plays in the field as well that helped Steven get out of trouble."
The win gives Monahans a 2-1 district record. The team's lone district loss went to Presidio, who they will face again on Monday night at 7 pm in Presidio.
