Devils Get by Loboes in Presidio
By Staff Writers ~~ The Monahans News, April 17, 2008

After a Friday-night victory over Pecos, the Lobo baseball team and the Eagles were tied for the district lead. The Green traveled to Presidio on Monday in hopes of defending that lead with another win. Unfortunately, the Loboes were unable to settle down early in the game, and it cost them the victory. Monahans lost 3-7 to Presidio.

"We left too many men in scoring position in the early inning, and that was the difference in the game," said head baseball coach Robert Dixon.

In District 2-3A, Pecos, who was tied with Monahans for the district lead, lost 4-2 in 11 innings to Fort Stockton.

Monahans will host Stockton on Friday. The Loboes have split games with the panthers, winning 7-2 in round one and losing 2-4 in round two.

Friday's pitch goes out at 7:30 pm at Lobo Field.
