Lose in 45-46 Heartbreaker to
Presidio

The Lobo Boys' basketball team traveled to Presidio for the
first district game of the season against the Blue Devils. After a win from the
Lady Loboes, the boys were looking to follow suit for their first district win.
After the first quarter, hopes were low as Monahans was behind Presidio 21-2. The Blue Devils had a commanding lead, but the Loboes fought their way back. Scoring for the Green was Chris Roberson with an impressive 21 point, including two three-point goals. Also in double figures was Arnold Rodriguez, who scored 11 points.
By the fourth quarter, Monahans had caught up to Presidio. With15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 45 when Presidio called a foul against Monahans. The free throw point brought Presidio ahead. The Loboes had the ball back with seven seconds in the game, and were unable to score. The final score was an upsetting 45-46 Presidio win.
The Monahans boys will have a chance to redeem themselves when they play Presidio again in a home game on February 6.
The next game for the varsity Loboes will be here against Fort Stockton at 7:30 pm.
