Cross Country Team Shows Improvement at

The Lobo Cross Country team participated in the Seminole Indian run, Saturday, September 3.
Monahans was represented very well in each division, bringing home several medals.
In the Junior High Boys Division, Kris Juarez medaled with a time a time of 10:01, and was joined b team mate tanner Harris with 10:25. Bobby Fabian clocked a 10:33, and Ryan Sanchez a 12:03.
The Junior High Girls placed Paige Forest with a 11:15. Ashley Smith ran 11:18, and Monica Ortiz had an 11:25 to round out the medallist. Abby Marquez recorded an 11:32, with Kali Lewis and Kati Holly each finishing at 12:06.
The Junior Varsity Girls division was extremely tough, but the Ladies battled on. Alejandra Valenznal's time of 16:10 lead MHS, and Kristin Little John's 16:24, Kimbra Mitchell's 16:50, and Laura Hinojos 15:03 rounded out the event.
The Lady Lobo varsity team was lead by Daisy Zamirripa, who won first place with a time of 10:39.
Kim Madrid followed in Fourth place with an 11:11, and Selena Balderas, 12:07, Chelsea Cartwright's 12;53, and Amber Clay's time of 13:52 made a successful event for the Ladies on the day.
The MHS Junior Varsity Boys (ran a third loop), with Pablo Jimenez winning first place with a time of 17:14, Chance Helmers locked down fourth place with a 19:14, and Miguel Garza's 18:42 was good enough to capture eighth place. all JV boys medaled.
The Lobo Varsity Boys finished 4th overall as a team out of 15 teams.
Cameron Lynch lead the way with a 15:23, Josh Munoz ran a 15:27 with Chris Collins adding a time a 15:39.
Aaron Forest 15:42, Josh Smith 16:00, Chad Harris 16:13 rounded out the Lobo entries.
"The kids are improving every day," Coach Treasure Thaggard said. "You can see the difference their hard work is making each time they step on the course."
