Monahans Places Well at District, Send
Athletes to Regional

Monahans was the site of the District 3-3A Cross Country championships Monday. Coach Thaggard's Lobo teams competed well, and will send several individuals to Regional.
Daisy Zamarripa won the ladies 3200 meter run with a time of 12:09.4, and will advance to regional as the district champion.
Zamarippa led the Lady Lobo team to the third-place finish in District 3-3A, and also qualifies for regional competition.
Competing for the varsity ladies were Felicia Masias, Selena Balderas, Brianna Chaney, Camilla Cutbirth, and Amber Clay.
Presidio won the district title, and the Seminole Maidens finished second. They will accompany the Lady Loboes at the regional meet.
In the men's division, Cameron Lynch finished in seventh place with a time of 17:38.94. Lynch will advance to regional as an individual medalist.
The Loboes finished in fourth place, just one position out of the regional qualifiers.
Competing for the Lobo men at district were Josh Munoz, Aaron Forest, Colt Smith, Josh Smith Chad Harris, and Justin Tester.
The JV ladies won first place in district with a commanding performance.
Crystal Madrid led the way with a time of 14:25.24. also competing for MHS was Tina Bomberg, Eliza Vidana, Kim Madrid, Alejandra Valenzuela, Chelsea Cartwright, Jasmine Clayton, Hazel Robinson, and Trisha Montgomery.
The JV men's team consisted of Pablo Jimenez and Miguel Garza. Garza finished the 5k run with a time of 20:45.50, and Jimenez clocked a 21:51.31 in the event.
