The freshman football team moved to 7 and 0 on the season, following a 27 to 6 victory over the Fort Stockton freshman Thursday evening in Fort Stockton.

The scoring plays for the Loboes consisted of a 65-yard pass from Wade Roark to Ricky Robledo, a six-yard run by Blake Thompson, a punt return by Jose Armendariz, and a pass from Roark to Kendrick Anderson.  Roark added 2 PAT kicks and a completion for two points to Gael Espinoza.

"We jumped on them early and then lost the intensity we, started the game with. That disappointed us a little but the kids played hard enough to keep the game under control and come away with another victory.

"Several big plays either ended up as touchdowns or set up touchdowns."

"The pass from Roark to Robledo was a big blow to them they came out really fired up and that touchdown on the first play was tough to swallow," said Coach David Burnett.

"The defense then made a great stand and forced a bad snap on the punt, that we nearly covered in the end zone and ended up with on the two.

"A loss to the six set up a six-yard run by Blake Thompson for the touchdown.  Wade Roark made the first PAT kick but missed the second one.

After the kickoff the defense again held the Panthers to three and out and Jose Armendariz returned the punt for a 60-yard touchdown.

After missing the second kick the team went for two.  Wade hit Gael Espinoza for the conversion, giving the Loboes a 21 to 0 lead.

Fort Stockton answered with a good drive, scoring their only touchdown with 33 seconds left in the half.

"We returned the kickoff to midfield and decided to see if we could run some type of two minute offense," said Burnett.

"We broke loose when Wade hit Blake Thompson in the flat with a pass, and about 60 yards later he was stopped on the 9-yard line with seven seconds left.  That set up the pass from Wade to Kendrick Anderson for the touchdown, and Roark added the PAR with two seconds left in the half.  That touchdown took all the momentum they had away and put us back on top.

"We didn't score in the second half but played good defense, and finished with another big win."

The freshmen will play their last home game this week against McCamey J.V. on Thursday at 5 pm.

It will be the last chance to see the undefeated team in action in a Monahans home game for the 2007 season.
