The Lady Loboes trampled the Fort Stockton Lady Panthers 59- 39 Tuesday.
"These girls got off to a slow start. I think they were so worried about getting it right, that they couldn't play the game. Once they relaxed in the second half, they could play like I know they can," Coach Terri Hopkins said.
The Lady Loboes stated a little sluggishly gaining a one point lead in the first period.
However, the Ladies gained 12 points in the second period, while the Lady Panthers were only able to put up 5 points.
Monahans scored 13 points in the third, to widen the gap to 15 points, bringing the score to 42-27.
The panthers' defense was unable to stop the Lady Loboes in the forth period. The ladies scored 17 points, while Fort Stockton scored 12 points.
The Ladies are currently 5-13 overall and 3-3 in the district.
"We are actually better than what our record shows. It is all a mental game for the girls." Hopkins said.
Jenna Fann got on the board for 23 points and Catherine Cutbirth scored 16 points.
"If you look at the second half, Catherine Cutbirth had her best game of the year," Hopkins said. Other scorers were Chelsea Cartwright with 10 points, Jacquelyn Hopkins with 7 and Dina Ortiz with 5 points.
The Lady Loboes will travel to Kermit on Friday for a practice game before they travel to Presidio on Tuesday for the next district game.
On Friday, the ladies will begin at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday. The Ladies will take the court at 6 p.m.
