Lady Loboes place 7th at tournament

Lady Loboes took 7th place in the Denver City Basketball Tournament over the weekend.

On Thursday, the ladies were defeated by Midland High 48 - 23 to put them back in the consolation bracket.

Top scorer for the game was Jacqueline Hopkins with 9 points for the night. She had one 2-pointer from the inside and one from the outside.  The other shots were free throws.

 Jenna Fann scored 8 points, with all her shots from the outside.  Fann had 8 rebounds split offensive and defensive equally.  Jacqueline Hopkins blocked 3 of Midland's shots and had 8 rebounds, 3 offensive and 5 defensive.  Other scores were  Catherine Cutbirth and Candace Swarb.

The Lady Loboes then took on El Paso Bel Aire who defeated Monahans 44-39.

Once again Jacqueline Hopkins was top scorer with 14 points - 10 free throws and 2 shots from the inside.  She had 11 rebounds in the game against Bel Aire, 3 offensive and 8 deffensive. Fann had 7 steals for the Lady Loboes.

On Saturday, the Ladies continued in the consolation bracket for 7th place against Kermit.  They defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets 52 - 45.  Top scorer in the Kermit game was Jenna Fann with 14 points, all from the inside.  Jacqueline Hopkins scored 8 points from the inside.  Catherine Cutbirth had 6 points with 1shot from the outside.  Madeline Hopkins added 4 points.  Five steals came from Jenna Fann, 3 each from Madeline Hopkins, Catherine Cutbirth, Jacqueline Hopkins, 2 each from Chelsea Cartwright, Dina Ortiz, and Candace Swarb had 1.  Jacqueline Hopkins also had 14 rebounds, 9 offensive and 5 defensive.  Catherine Cutbirth had 9 rebounds, 8 of those being offensive.

The Lady Loboes will play again Tuesday night, Dec. 7, at the Jerry Larned Complex against Sonora with the game starting at 7:30 p. m.
