Lady Loboes show improvement

The Jal, New Mexico basketball girls defeated the Lady Loboes on Monday night by just 6 points.
The Ladies started the game with a 3-point lead in the first period. But Jal came back in the second period with a 16-point run to Monahans' 5 points.
The ladies turned around in the third period with a 12-6 run to bring the score to 28-26 in Jal's favor. The fourth period brought a 15-11 run by Jal, and they held the lead at 43-37 for the final score.
"We played much better. The turnovers hurt us throughout the game, but with some more playing time under our belts, that has to improve," Coach Terri Hopkins said.
The ladies had 42 total turnovers throughout the game.
Jenna Fann lead the Lady Loboes in scoring with 12 points and 2 free throws. She also had 8 defensive and 2 offensive rebounds with 6 steals. Jacquelyn Hopkins score 8 points and 4 free throws. She also had 5 defensive and 2 offensive rebounds with 3assists and 4 blocked shots.
Other leading scorers were Chelsea Cartwright, Catherine Cutbirth and Madeleine Hopkins.
Cartwright had 2 steals, 2 assists and 5 total rebounds - 2 offensive and 3 defensive. Cutbirth also had 2 assists and 4 total rebounds, separated equally between offensive and defensive. Madeleine Hopkins also had 4 total rebounds equally distributed.
The Lady Loboes' next game will be played with weekend at the Denver City Tournament.
