Lady Loboes Place Five on 3-3A All -District Basketball

The Monahans lady Loboes placed five
athletes on the 2006 girl's all-district
3-3Abaskeball team, recently selected by the the District's basketball
coaches.
Catherine Cutbirth, Dina Ortiz, Kim Madrid, Candace Swarb and Jordan Latham each were recognized for their contributions in the 2006 season.
Catherine Cuthbrith, a junior at MHSt, was named as the only First Team Selection from Monahans on a squad dominated by the District 3-3Achampion Seminole Maidens.
Dina Ortiz was ecognized for her intense style of defense and added as the only Lady Lobo the All-Defensive team.
Kim Madrid and Jordan Latham were named as District 3-3A Honorable Mention selections on offense, and Candace Swarb was tabbed Honorable Mention on defense.
With the exception of Sward who will graduate in the spring, first -year MHS coach Treasure Thaggard will have a strong nucleus from which to build her 2007 team, as Cutbirth, Ortiz, Madrid and Latham all return "I have been so proud of these girls for their effort and improvement each week," said Thaggard. Most of them came in late from volleyball, and they all worked hard to learn a new system. I am proud of each of them and what we were able to accomplish as a team this year.
