Lady Mustangs Outscore Lady Lobes 44-61 in Andrews

The Lady Loboes basketball team played the Andrews Lady Mustangs Tuesday night in Andrews.  After a second quarter takeover by the Mustangs, the Loboes were unable to bounce back, falling to Andrews 44-61.

At the end of the first quarter, Monahans held Andrews to a slim two-point lead.  Trouble started in the second quarter when the Lady Mustangs scored 22 point, while the Lady Loboes only scored 8.

Monahans scored two out of three 3-point goals, but by Dina Ortiz, Lobo top scorer for the night.  The Lady Mustang's top scorer was Deandra Marquez, who led Andrews to a 17-point win.

"We normally target their top scorer," said head coach Treasure Thaggard of Marguez.  "I even had two girls on her at one point." 

"We're seeing really good things at the free throw line," said Coach Thaggard, whole team scored in 16 of 25 free throw attempts.  "My girls play with a lot of heart."
