The Monahans Junior Varsity took home the silver medal at the Lamesa JV tournament, then following up with a big finish in the McCamey Varsity tournament to highlight the end of Spring Break.

The MHS JV earned a big vote of confidence from Coach David Burnett who only envisions positive things for the future of Lobo golf.  "Our younger golfers are showing a lot of improvement," Burnett said.  "They are competing well as a group and putting up good scores."

Leading the way at Lamesa was Seth Howard, who carded a team low 86.  Justin Ochoa added an 87 to compliment Howard's performance.

Bo Rose carded a 94, followed by Tyler Watson's 95, and Timmy Fuentes shot a 96.

The JV Loboes ended the spring break with a solid performance at the McCamey Varsity tournament, finishing sixth out of 10, including highly regarded varsity teams from West Texas.

Justin Ochoa led the Loboes with a team low score of 84.

"Justin has really played well for us the last two tournaments," Burnett said.

Seth Howard was on his heels shooting an 85, followed by Bo Rose with a 91.

"Seth is right there, where we need him to be, and Bo has put together a couple of good rounds lately," said Burnett.

Timmy Fuentes carded a 95, and Tyler Watson added a 99 at McCamey.

"Timmy and Tyler are playing pretty good, and that is encouraging," Burnett said.

Playing as individual medalist in the tournament were Jeremy Brown and Lee Martinez.

Brown shot an 89 and Martinez added a 97 for the Loboes.

"This group has had a couple of good outings, and I think they are going to be very competitive throughout their high school careers," Burnett said. "I look for positive things for them in the future."
