The boys golf team moved into second place in the district race, taking advantage of the home course tournament.

The Loboes turned in their lowest round of the year shooting a team score of 318.

The individual scores this week were Shelton Burnett and Rex Rose, both carding scores of 78.  Cory Petree and Tyler Watson turned in scores of 81.  Justin Ochoa shot an 87 this week.

The second team turned in a team total of 350, led again by Anthony Armendariz with an 81, followed by Jeremy Brown with an 86.  Kevin Coldewey shot an 89, Bo Rose a 94, and Timmy Fuentes shot 98.

The medalist boys, Seth Howard, Junior Fuentes and Garrett King finished with scores of 86, 88 and 94, respectively.

"I was extremely proud of the team this week.  We were in a pretty tough spot after the first round in Fort Stockton.  We needed to get back in contention to have a shot at catching Fort Stockton for the district championship when we get to the Pecos tournament.  We cut their lead in half.  That gives us a chance to meet them head-to-head on a neutral course and make a run at them.  The guys worked hard this past week, and I think it really paid off.  We need to put forth the same effort this week in preparation for the Pecos tournament and have a strong finish in district play," said Coach David Burnett.

The third round of district play is in Pecos next Thursday, April 12.
