Golfers Compete At Midland, Andrews

The Lobo boys golf team finished eleventh out of a field of 16, 3-A schools in division III at the Midland Tall City tournament last weekend.

The tournament was cut short due to the windy conditions on Saturday, but the round at Ranchland Hills was completed on Friday with Loboes Corey Petree and Justin Ochoa leading the team with scores of 84 each.  Shelton Burnett finished with a 90, Jeremy Brown tuned in a 92, and Tyler Watson finished with a score of 96.

The JV team competed in the Andrews tournament and finished in second place.  The team brought in scores of 85 by Anthony Armendariz, 88 by Kevin Coldeway, 90 by Timmy Fuentes, a 93 turned in by Garett King, and 94 by Rex Rose.

Also playing as individuals in the tournament were Junior Fuentes shooting a 95, and Matthew Ornelas finished with a score of 101.

The JV team will play in Lamesa on Wednesday Feb. 28, and the Varsity team will go to Andrews on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3.
