Loboes Lifters Place Second at Kermit

The Monahans boys placed second at the Kermit Powerlifting Championships held this weekend while the girls finished in sixth place.  There were 16 teams competing in each the girls and boys divisions.

Host Kermit took the gold in both the boys and girls competitions.  Kermit had 37 points, and the Lobo boys were not far behind with 31 in second place.

In the 114-pound weight class, Dallas Bauden placed sixth with a 460-pound total lift.  He squatted 160, bench pressed 105 and dead-lifted 195 pounds.

Michael Cherry placed fourth in the 123-pound weight class.  He squatted 165 pounds, bench pressed 90 and dead lifted 215 for a total of 470 pounds.

Kelton Mitchell placed third in the 148-pound weight class.  His 980-pound total lift consisted of a 380-pound squat, a bench press of 225 pounds, and a 375-pound dead lift.

Matt Montoya, Brandon Baggett, Colbie Henson and Daniel French of Monahans placed fourth, seventh, tenth, and twelfth in the 165 division, respectively.  They had total lift of 1035, 890, 825 and 755.

Hector Venegas lifted 475 pounds in the squat, 255 in the bench press and 380 in the dead lift.  The 1,110 pound total lift placed him second in the 181 weight class.

In the 198 class, Evan Heminway placed fourth, Kaleb Hidon finished 13th and Arkrus Sedillos was 15th.  Heminway had lifts of 415, 265 and 410 for a total of 1090.  Grigry lifted 385, 215 and 325.  Sedillos lifted 285, 145 and 285.

Monahans' best finisher in the 220 class was Anthony Ford, who placed ninth. He had lifts of 330 in the squat, 235 in the bench press and 310 in the dead lift.

Anthony Santiago placed first at the meet in the 242-pound weight class.  His total lift was 1,405 pounds, a full 45 pounds more than second-place Tyler Stafford of Odessa Permian.  Santiago squatted 580, bench pressed 325 and dead lifted 500 pounds.

Riley Price took second place in 275 class.  Price had a total lift of 1,120 pounds including a 425 squat, a 235 bench press and a 460-pound dead lift.

Stetson Standish placed second in the super heavyweights.  He had a total 1,070-pounds in a 480-pound squat, a 255-pound bench and a 335-pound dead lift.

In the girls' division, Monahans placed sixth with 17 total points.

Kimberley Medcalf placed eighth in the 114-pound weight class.  Her total lift was 405 pounds.

Quen Carter and Adriana Rendon placed fourth and fifth in the 132 class with the same 560-pound total.  Carter squatted 205, benched 115 and dead lifted 240 while Rendon squatted 205, benched 100 and dead lifted 255 pounds.

Ambre Vanderburg placed third in her class with a squat of 255, a bench press of 125 and a 220-pound dead lift for a total of 600 pounds.

Allyson Ramos finished third in the 165 weight class with lifts of 210,125, and 230.

Crissy Wallace placed second in the 181 class with lifts of 145,100 and 200.

In the 220+ division, Morgan Haynes placed third.  She lifted 265 pounds in the squat, 145 in the bench press and 270 in the dead lift for a 680-pound total.

Next on the powerlifting schedule is a February 23 meet in Big Lake.
