Loboes Lifting for State Berths

The Lobo powerlifters will be in Levelland this weekend for the Regional Meet.  The meet will decide next-round qualifiers, as the top two lifters in each weight class get a berth to the State meet.

In the 114 weight class, Dallas Bowden will be lifting.

Two boys, Bobby Fabian and Michael Cherry will lift in the 123 weight class.

Kelton Mitchell will compete in the 148 weight class.

Matt Montoya will enter in the 165 weight class.

Hector Venegas, lifter in the 181 weight class will also lift on Saturday.

In the 198 weight class, Evan Heminway will represent Monahans.

Anthony Santiago, returning state qualifier, will lift in the 242 weight class.

Riley Price and Matt Ornelas will lift in the 275 weight class.

Representing the Loboes in the superheavyweight class are two lifters, Shaquille Smith and Stetson Standish.

"It's real competitive, but we feel really confident in having some people have a chance to qualify for State," said Coach Mickey Mitchell.

The regional meet will be held at Levelland High school on Saturday.
