New Athletic Trainer, Brent Harris was born on April 19, in Jal, New Mexico.  While attending Jal High Coach Harris participated in football, basketball, track, golf and cross-country.  But overall his favorite is golf.  Coach Harris is married to Sarah and they have no kids yet.

Some of his favorites include Rocky for a movie, lasagna, country music and his favorite sport, golf.  Harris coaches High School P.E. and also elementary P.E.

Although he has never live in Monahans, he thinks it's a great town.  When asked what his goals were for this year Coach responded, "This is my first year teaching so I would like to learn as much as possible about the field I'm in.  Win a state championship in football as well as another in volleyball.  To be a part of that would be great."

His last place of employment was a ETMC Rehabilitation Center/Carthage High School.

Coach Harris chose the career because it is fulfilling helping others in sports medicine.

"To work with a kid who is injured and returning them to competition not only physically but mentally is rewarding," Harris said.

The favorite thing about his job is being around kids and coaches.

"I love the whole atmosphere," Harris said. "MHS is a school with a lot of tradition, and everyone is close knit, which makes for a better learning environment."

Something he misses about his last job is the friends he made.  The favorite vehicle he has ever owned is a 2002 Dodge Ram.  Two things he is very passionate about are church and golf.

I was in class doing some work for a teacher, I was the only one in class, I was singing rater loudly, and there was a class outside that heard me and everyone was laughing," Harris said

Another one of his most embarrassing moments was when he was running out for a basketball game and out of nowhere he slipped and fell.

A past teacher that influenced the way he teaches today is a coach he had that was hard, but fair.

"He treated everyone the same and would talk to you like you were his son or daughter," Harris said.
