Hernandez Pancakes Senior Year
    Article by Martha Garza

As a senior offensive lineman, Rolando Hernandez likes pancakes. Not the kind you eat but the kind you can get when you plant a defensive player flat on his back .

"It's the best part," Hernandez said. "We don't get to score touchdowns or even carry the ball, but we can dominate the guy across from us."

Hernandez is a starting offensive guard on the Varsity football this year and wears number 70 at all games.

Hernandez was born July 42, 1988 in Eagle Pass, Texas. He has four sisters: Patricia, Christina, Lorena, and Marysol.  Rolando also has three brothers:  Raul, Rogelio, and Reymundo.

When not play football, Hernandez likes to play video games and watch television.

Hernandez said the best thing about being a senior is being at the top of the pecking order.

"We get to be the top dogs at school this year," he said.

Hernandez's favorite music is rap, his favorite movie is "Friday Night Lights," his favorite sport is football, his favorite color is blue, and he loves pepito jokes.

He says his biggest pet peeve is when people talk too much.  He is planning to go to Odessa College or Midland College after he graduates from high school.

He is torn about leaving MHS after his graduation in the Spring.

"I'm kind of glad but think I'm going to miss all the good times I had with my friends," he said.
