The new head basketball coach of the Lady Loboes brings state championship experience to Monahans High School.  Treasure Lynn Thaggard helped lead Seagraves High School to the Class A State Championship last season.

Thaggard was born on March 20, 1955 in Brownfield, Texas.  She attended Brownfield for her first two years of high school, and then attended Tahoka High school for her last two years,  where she graduated with a very close and fun class.

"In high school I drove a little car and after lunch the Principal got me out of class," Thaggard said.  "He asked me if I had been drinking at lunch and I said NO.  We walked to the parking lot and the boys in my class had picked up my car and placed it in the flowerbed."

Coach Thaggard is not married, but has one son.  His name is Joe Bradley and is a senior at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.

Thaggard also coaches cross country, and track.  She teaches English and speech.

Thaggard is very happy to be in Monahans, saying it is a very friendly community.

"The students and athletes are serious about learning and participating," she said.  "The school is very organized, with a lot of caring staff and administration."

Thaggard is a passionate coach who admits she misses her house, friends, and mom in Seagraves.

"I am passionate about my job, my son, America, the Monahans Loboes and Lady Loboes, and Life," she said.
