Taharra Tisdale pitched a one hitter and the Midland Christian Mustangs picked up 6 hits to shut down the Lady Loboes 4-0 Saturday afternoon.

The game had been originally set for March 15, but rain forced the game to be rescheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Bill Williams softball complex in Midland.

Heather Schuler started the game for Monahans, throwing devastating curve and drop balls to Midland batter through five innings.  "Our pitching was on," Coach Kasey Kinney said.  "Heather kept them off balance all afternoon."

Once the Mustang batters caught up to Schuler, Coach Kinney sent in Raquel Hawkins in relief, and she did a good job closing out the game.

"We had one inning that we didn't play well," added Kinney.  "We had an under throw at second base that went through three people that killed us."

The Lady Loboes played well against a good Midland team.  "The Midland pitcher is good, and I was looking for contact with the ball so that the girls know they can hit the ball off good pitchers," Coach Kasey Kinney said.  Jenny Jarrett got the only hit for the Green.

Jarrett was brought up from the JV to play catcher for Dina Ortiz who competed in the District 3-AAA tennis championships over the weekend.

"While our bats did not look good on paper, we did well," concluded Kinney.  "This game was great practice for us."

The Lady Lobes are at home Tuesday to host the Pecos Eagles in a key District 3-AAA game.
