Lady Loboes shut out Midland High 3-0

Heather Schuler pitched a shutout against Midland High Tuesday night at the MHS softball complex, and the Lady Loboes defeated the Class 5A giants 3-0 in a non-district game.

Scoreless through three innings, Monahans (6-3) blasted the Lady Bulldogs for 3 runs on 9 hits, scoring a run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to slam the door on Midland High.

Kaitlin Mitchell highlighted the night with a solo home run, while Brianna Chaney and Lana Santiago each hit 2 for 2 at the plate to lead MHS.

Dina Ortiz and Heather Schuler each smashed RBI doubles in the game to score Chaney and Santiago.

From the circle, Schuler (6-0) pitched a complete game to earn the shutout victory for the Green.  Schuler allowed 8 hits by Midland High, but picked up an outstanding defensive effort from the Lady Loboes to preserve the win.

Monahans returns to tournament play on Thursday, March 2, in Snyder.
