The Lady Lobo soft ball team hosted the Pecos Eagles in the first district game of the season Tuesday night.

Pecos came up empty-handed in the first  three innings, while Monahans scored nine runs. The game had shutout prospects until Claire Weinacht, catcher from Pecos, made a base-hit to bring home shortstop Herrera.

The Lady Loboes  answered the Pecos run with three of their own in the bottom of the fourth.

A scoreless fifth inning made it it 12-1, Monahans.

Lady Lobo defense didn't get a lot of practice in Tuesday, as Weinacht's hit was one of a mere five allowed by Monahans pitcher Heather Schuler in 20 batters faced.

The Lady Loboes hit 14 times against Pecos.  Batter for the night was Lana Santiago.  In four at- bats, Santiago brought in four runs with three base hits. Schuler, Mitchell, and Wilson were also three-for-four.  Hitting doubles were Kim Wilson, who stole on two attempts, and Kaitlin Mitchell. Ortiz, Mitchell, and Schuler each had one steal.

Thursday night Presidio will come to town to face the Lady Loboes. Varsity's first pitch is at 5 pm.
