Lady Loboes End Tuesday with a Shutout

The Lady  Lobo varsity softball team hosted Kermit Tuesday night.  Monahans put away the Yellowjackets 8-0.  Although Kermit had nine hits, just one less hit than Monahans, the Lady defense allowed the opponent no runs.

The game remained scoreless in the first three quick innings but the Ladies hit a sweet spot in the fourth inning for six runs.  Two more runs in the total eight.  Bertha Felan made one of the ten hits against Kermit a homerun.  Kaitlin Mitchell hit a triple as well as a double.  Two more doubles came from Dina Ortiz.  The remaining five base-hits were by Kellie Almanza, Lana Sontiago, Barbara Cota, Kim Wilson, and Bailey Marcum.

Monahans was able to score eight runs off of ten hits.  Mitchell scored two runs.  Heather Schuler, Santiago, Cota, Wilson, Felan, and Marcum each brought in one run.

March 14, the Lady Lobo Varsity softball team will travel to Nevada, TX to play Community HS.  The game begins at 4:30.
