Swimmers Headed to Regional Meet

The top six finishers in each event
at the District Meet, which was held last weekend in Pecos, go on to the next
level of competition at the Region I Swimming & Diving Meet. Monahans will
be represented in several events at Texas Tech's Pete Ragus Center in Lubbock
Justin Dominguez, Reed Bowman, Brandon Spinks, and John Ray will compete in the 200-yard medley relay.
Aimee McBride will swim in the 200-yard freestyle as well as the 500-yard freestyle.
John Ray will also compete in the boys 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races. Ray placed first at the district swim meet in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.46.
Brandon Spinks will race in the boys 200-yard IM.
In the 50-yard freestyle, two Lobo Swimmers, Cyle Lynch and Jacob Robbins, will be at the regional meet.
Brandon Spinks and Brandon McGuire will swim the 100-yard butterfly.
Estefana Galindo will swim the 100-yard freestyle.
In the boys' 100-yard freestyle, Reed Bowman and Jacob Robbins will swim.
Monahans' relay team of Brandon Spinks, Jacob Robbins, Reed Bowman, and John Ray will compete in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Lyndsay Chowning and Crissy Wallace will swim the girls' 100-yard backstroke for Monahans, while Justin Dominguez will swim the boys' 100-yard backstroke.
In the 100-yard breastroke, Brittany White will represent the Monahans girls and Reed Bowman will represent the Monahans boys.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Monahans teams are Estefana Galindo, Marilyn Bingham, Lyndsay Chowning, and Aimee McBride for the girls, and Justin Dominguez, Brandon McGuire, Cyle Lynch, and Jacob Robbins for the boys.
The top three finishers at the regional meet go on to compete at the State Meet in Austin , February 22-23.
