Lobo Swim Teams Place in Stockton Meet

The Monahans Swim Team was in Fort Stockton on Saturday for the Floyd Coker Invitational Swim Team.  The girls' finished in third place overall, while the boys came in second to Pecos High School.

In the 200-yard medley relay, both the boys and girls placed in their respective events.  The girls' team of Lyndsay Chowning, Brittney White, Estefana Galindo, and Aimee McBride had a time of 2:25.17.  The boys' team of Justin Dominguez, John Ray, Brandon Spinks, and Cyle Lynch had a time of 1:59.87.

McBride placed second in the girls' 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:26.04.

In third was Marilyn Bingham with a time of 2:39.91.  Crissy Wallace finished in 2:42.05 for sixth place.

In the boys' 200-yard freestyle, ray placed second in a time of 2:05.71

With a time of 3:05.95, White placed third.

Spinks placed second in a time of 2:29.58 in the boys' 200-yard IM.  In third place was Dominguez with a time of 2:35.94. Brandon McGuire finished in 2:48.73 and sixth place.

Lynch placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.86 seconds.

Chowning finished the 100-yeard butterfly in 1:30.10 for fourth place.

Spinks placed second in the boys' 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.35.

Teammates Dominguez and McGuire place sixth and seventh with respective times of 1:14.95 and 1:17.96.

Galindo finished fourth in the girls' 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:12.25.  Just a fraction of a second behind (1:12.31), White placed fifth.

In the boys' 100-yard freestyle, Jacob Robbins placed fifth in 58.64 seconds.

McBride and Bingham placed second and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, respectively.  They had times of 6:29.47 and 7:17.29.

Ray placed second in the boys' 500-yard free in 5:43.88.

The team of Galindo, Wallace, Bingham and White placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.  Their total time was 2:12.89.

The boys' team of McGuire, Robbins, Spinks, and Ray brought home the team's only gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay.  The team beat Pecos by 1.4 seconds.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Chowning placed second in 1:18.91.  Wallace placed fourth in 1:27.10.

In the boys' 100-yard backstroke, Lynch placed second in 1:08.54 and Robbins placed sixth in 1:12.88.

Galindo finished the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:39.86 and fourth place.

Bingham, Wallace, Chowning, and McBride took third place in the 400-yard freestyle.  With respective times of 1:14.90, 1:16.40, 1:14.30, 1:05.23, the team had a total time of 4:50.83.

The boys also took third place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.  Dominguez, McGuire, Robbins, and Lynch had times of 1:00.45, 1:09.09, 55.43, and 59.92 for a total of 4:04.89.

Girls Team Standings

1.Pecos High School, 370;  2. Abilene Wylie, 311;  3. Monahans High School, 213; and 4. Fort Stockton High School, 136.

Boys Team Standings

1.Pecos High School, 456; 2. Monahans High School, 216; 3. Fort Stockton High School, 179; and 4. Abilene Wylie, 67.
