Monahans Swimmers Travel to Lubbock

The Monahans High School swim team traveled to Lubbock this weekend for an invitational swim meet at Texas Tech University's Pete Ragus Center. It was a big meet with many larger 4A and 5A schools participating.
Monahans High finished tenth in the boys' 200-yard medley relay in a time of
1:51.53.
Aimee McBride swam in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:27.29 for 28th place.
John Ray finished the 200-yard freestyle in 12th place and 2:00.63
In the Boys' 200-yard IM. Brandon Spinks placed 24th in a time of 2:28.21.
Brandon Spinks placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly. Stinks finished the race in 1:00. 01.
Reed Bowman placed 15th in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.91 seconds.
McBride finished the 500-yard freestyle in a total time of 6:31.13 and 27th place.
Ray placed 17th in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:40. 94.
In the boys' 200-yard freestyle relay, the Monahans team placed 11th in 1:38. 92
Lyndsay Chowning finished 35th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:20.65
Cyle Lynch swam the boys' 100-yard breaststroke, finishing the race in 1:07.38.
Monahans placed 22nd in the girls' 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:36.17
In the boys' 400-yard freestyle relay, the Green placed 16th in 3:58.75
The heavy competition was a good prep for the Loboes, who are now in preparation for next weekend's district swim meet.
Pecos will be district host this year. Prelimes will be held on Friday, and the finals will be played on Saturday. Action will begin at noon each day.
