News, December 9, 2005
The
Monahans Lady Loboes placed Brittany Hughes and Candace Swarb on the Class 3A
All-State volleyball team, and Camilla Cutbirth joined Hughes and Swarb on the
Class 3A Academic All-State team.
Hughes and Swarb each earned spots on the All-tournament team during the State finals, and have recently been recognized by the Texas Girls Coaches Association as All-State selections for the 2005 season.
Cutbirth, Hughes, and Swarb were also honored for their outstanding academic achievement at Monahans High School.
The TGCA recognized the ladies as Class 3A Academic All-State Selections. To qualify for the academic recognition, athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 94 all three years of High School and carry that average for the first two six weeks of the current school year.
"This is a very big honor for the girls," Coach Patty Dominguez said. "It shows just how hard they worked both on and off the court this year"
The trio were also recognized last month as All District selections by the District 3-3A coaches
