Monahans Wins Title

MONAHANS  The Monahans Lady Loboes volleyball team captured its fifth consecutive District 2-3A title with a 25-12, 25-7, 25-9 victory over Fort Stockton on Tuesday night.

Bethany Willmon had 12 kills for the Lady Loboes (37-3 overall 6-0 in 2-3A action).  Catherine Cutbirth had eight kills while setter Kaitlin Mitchell finished with 32 assists. 

"It's a great feeling to win the district title," Monahans coach Patty Dominguez said.  "This year, we had an overall arsenal of weapons to be able to use and Kaitlin has done a nice job of maturing and running the offence." 

Fort Stockton finished at 14-25 overall, 0-6 in district.
