of their 2006 schedule by defeating a tough Denver City team in straight sets
25-17, 25-21, 25-13 at the Jerry Larned Sports Complex, Saturday.
Monahans (31-3) knew they would have their hands full with former Lady Lobo Megan McGuire-David's talented team, and the Green came out focused and with one mission in mind.
The Lady Loboes played with high intensity throughout the match and amassed an impressive 41 kills against the Phillies.

Bethany Willmon posted 4 kills, but more importantly opened up the defense for Lady Lobo hitters by drawing double teams at the net. Willmon also had 7 digs.
She owned Denver City from the service line with an impressive 5 aces for the night.
Defensive specialist Dina Ortiz accounted for 1 assist and 4 key digs in the match.
Heather Schulz smashed 1 kill, and Pagie Shaw recorded 1 dig for the night.
The Lady Loboes scored the first point of game one on a kill by Bethany Willmon, and the Green never looked back.
Willmon was a big reason that MHS controlled the game from start to finish as she blasted 4 aces in the match.
Kaitlin Mitchell used the dink over the net to her advantage. When the defense of Denver City converged on the Lady Lobo power hitters, Mitchell simply dumped the ball over the net for points.
Bailey Marcum pounded the Phillies with big shots after big shot, and Monahans cruised to a 25-18 first set victory.
The Ladies trailed in the second set 1-4 before getting on track. Marcum pulled the Green to within one point on a big swing for a kill to bring the score to 4-5.
Denver City held the lead until midway through the set when Jordan Latham evened the score at 14-14.
On the play Cutbirth blasted the ball into the Philly front line, but an overset by Denver City allowed Latham to bury the ball into the Mustang side of the court.
Monahans used Latham's play to rally past DC as Cutbirth served the next 6 points to give Monahans as 20-14 lead.
Cutbirth ended the game with a kill to give MHS a 25-21 victory in game two.
Monahans wasted little time in the final set, overcoming a 0-1 deficit to take the lead for good.
Cutbirth ended the game with a kill to give MHS a 25-21 victory in game two.
On the play Cutbirth went up as if she was going to spike the ball hard, but rather opted for a dink over the net to catch the Big Red off balance and out of position on the play.
Bethany Willmon then stepped to the line and served 7 straight points which included two consecutive kills off oversets by Cutbirth.
The Lady Loboes raced out to a 198-12 advantage on a kill by Heather Schulz, then Bailye Marcum powered a kill through the Mustang line on a overset, then finished the game to give Monahans a 25-13 victory in game three.
