Tuesday night's Lady Lobo game against the Prowlers was
off to a late start as the hosting team has a special introduction for their
seniors, but it was all Green when the action started in Fort Stockton.
The Prowlers started from the serving line that ended in a Kati Holly kill to give the Lady Loboes the first point.
Later, an intentional overset by Kaitlin Mitchell was dropped by the Prowlers to make the score Monahans 16, and Fort Stockton 8 at a timeout.
After a three-point run, a block by Monahans fell on the wrong side of the court for the Lady Loboes, but the Green still had double the opponents score at 20-10.
It was game point when Bailey Marcum hit a spike that could not be returned by the Prowlers. Fort Stockton scored twice more, but Marcum ended the game with a tip, 25-15.
Game two left the Prowlers far behind after a seven-point run, and it took a Monahans error to put them on the board. Fort Stockton's second point came from a Monahans missed serve that make the score 10-2.
After a Marcum ace, Fort Stockton called a timeout at 17-4.
When the game resumed, the Ladies rolled to game point 24-9 after two consecutive aces by Latham.
When Fort Stockton returned a ball out of bounds, it gave Monahans the 25-10 win.
Freshmen Amy Rose saw some action in the third game. Rose and Kali Lewis were brought up from sub-varsity teams for Tuesday's game.
The Prowlers saw more points in game three, but the Green remained ahead throughout. Fort Stockton evaded the treat of game point once when a Latham kill was called out of bounds. In the next volley, Latham killed, this time inside the boundary lines, for the 25-18 Monahans win.
The game wrapped up an undefeated season for the Lady Loboes.
The team will now have a bye in the first round of playoff to get ready for area.
Pecos is the district runner-up while Fort Stockton is the third place 2-3A team.
