The Monahans Lady Loboes faced Midland Lee for the
third time this season on Tuesday. After heading home to study their Saturday
losses, the Ladies served up a win to improve their season record to 18-6.

Friday in
Seminole, Monahans lost a bracket championship match to lee and went on to lose
the tournament's third place match, again to Lee.
Both defeats occurred in two games, as the Lady Loboes were unable to rally up a win.
What a difference three days make. Coach Patty Dominquez brought her team home to study the game and locate the weaknesses before their next face-off on Tuesday.
"We studied the tape and realized we needed to make Midland Lee's defense move a lot more," explained Dominguez. "We came back from Seminole, and we work on hitting cross, and we changed up our defense a little bit."
The studying and strategizing paid off for the TGCA second-in-the-State ranked team. Monahans came home with a four-game win and an 18-6 season record.
The first two games were close, and both pushed beyond the 25-point mark for a win. Monahans took the first 26-24 before dropping the second 26-28. The Green wrapped it up in the third and fourth games with decisive 25-19 and 25-20 wins.
Jordan Latham tallied up 22 digs, while setter Kaitlin Mitchell raked in 36 assists.
The team worked on serving before returning to Midland. And it showed. Monahans had eight service points on Tuesday night ; three each from each from Marcum and Candace Cutbirth and one each from Mitchell and Latham.
This weekend, the team will go to Wolfforth to play in the first of three consecutive duals. The next is the following Tuesday with Lakeview and Sweetwater, before a Coronado and Canyon dual in Lubbock the following Saturday.
This Saturday's dual will be against Randall and Frenship. The Lady Loboes defeated Frenship in the round-one semifinals of the Monahans tournament on August 17. Randall is an Amarillo 4A high school that placed third in district's runner up, Dumas, in the Region 1 finals.
The Frenship/Randall dual begins at noon on Saturday for both the Varsity and JV teams. The freshman game will follow at 1:30 pm.
