UIL will meet each Wednesday after school from 3:45 to 5:15, beginning in November and continuing through February, 2005. The District UIL Meet is February 26, 2005 at Walker Junior High in Monahans. Each participant will attend two 45 minute classes each week. Event and Teacher list below:

| Melissa Dutton | Calculators- involves using scientific notations; it is not the regular use of calculator in +, -, x, or ÷. You need to be a very good math student to participate in this event. |
| Carla Brown | Dictionary Skills - involves learning to use the definitions and etymology of words with accuracy and speed, as well as answering questions concerning words. |

General Math -involves learning to go beyond the basic calculation of problems in the use of algebra and geometry. |
| Cacy Green | Impromptu Speaking - learning to "think on your feet" when given an unfamiliar topic and being capable of organizing your thoughts quickly in order to talk to a judge or a panel of judges. |
| Bonnie Benad | Listening Skills - learn to listen to a passage, take notes, and answer questions about the passage. |
| Sharon Heath | Maps, Graphs & Charts- learn to use maps, graphs, and charts in order to glean information needed to answer questions. |
| Debbie McDaniel | Modern Oratory - learn to research topics and organize the information in order to MEMORIZE a speech that might persuade someone to agree with your point of view. |
| Carla Brown | Music Memory -Team provides an in-depth knowledge of our musical heritage: it provides good listening practice and memory recall in order to identify the composition and the composer. |
| Evelyn Box | Number Sense - learn to calculate math problems in your head with the use of some learned short cuts. NO Pencils are allowed to be used for calculating answers. |
| Bonnie Benad | Oral Reading - learn to choose a poem to fit your personality, Read it and deliver it with great feeling and emotion before a panel of judges. |
| Cacy Green | Ready Writing - learn to be given a subject, organize your thoughts, and address the given situation. |
| Melissa Dutton | Science - (Earth and Life) READ, READ, READ!!! Retain all the scientific information you possibly can in order to answer questions in many scientific areas. |
| Jamie Fredericks | Spelling - PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!! words on a given list. You MUST have good handwriting for this event (if judge can't read each letter you write, it is wrong) |
| Howard Powers | Art - Team - Study of paintings from the National Gallery of Art in Washington. Demonstrate an understanding of art history, interpret ideas and moods, and identify works of art and their artists. |
