The Accelerated Reader Program is a computer based reading program.  First, the student chooses a book from our Accelerated Reader Book List.  Lists are available for student use in the library, classroom, and public library.  Our list is comprised of 3,500 book titles, and the library has multiple copies of most titles.  After reading the book, the student takes a computerized test.  Points are earned by answering questions correctly.  Point value for a book is based on the reading level and length of the book. Once every six weeks, students come to the library with their homeroom class for the opportunity to spend points they have earned.  We have a wide range of prizes, and students who would like to save their points to purchase bigger prizes are given that opportunity.
